What we help with

News coverage that won't go away

Most clients come to us with several articles at once, and we work them in parallel. The longer a story sits on page one, the more it shapes how people perceive you.

An old article still ranking for your name

Years-old coverage refusing to drop in rankings, surfacing every time someone searches for you.

Coverage of a charge that was dropped

Reporting on a matter that was withdrawn, dismissed, or never proceeded, where the coverage hasn't been updated.

Inaccurate or misleading reporting

Articles with factual errors, missing context, or an angle the publisher hasn't agreed to fix.

Articles from defunct publications

Coverage from a site that no longer operates, but whose pages are still indexed and ranking.

Defamatory news content

Articles where defamation grounds exist. We coordinate with legal counsel on the takedown pathway.

Wire-syndicated coverage across dozens of sites

The same story replicated through major news wires and similar feeds, appearing on outlet after outlet.

What we do

Legal pathways and search suppression, run in parallel

For news content, the workable paths are legal removal where grounds exist and search suppression for everything else. We run both at once, across every article in scope.

Legal pathway coordination

We work with legal counsel on takedown notices, defamation actions, and statutory remedies (eSafety, NCII) where Australian law applies.

Search suppression

The primary path for news. We outrank the articles on the queries that surface them: your name, your business, related searches.

Authoritative profile development

Publish credible profile content on high-authority domains so accurate information ranks ahead of the articles.

Positive content creation

Original articles, features, and assets under your name or brand, designed to occupy and hold page-one positions.

Targeted SEO

SEO work focused on the exact queries that surface the articles. Not generic optimisation, specific to your situation.

Individual case strategy

Every matter assessed individually. Every article has different facts, jurisdictions, and realistic outcomes.

When removal isn't possible

Bury the articles with content you control

Some news coverage can't be removed, particularly factually accurate reporting in established outlets. In those cases, suppression is the path: a footprint of accurate, authoritative content under your name that outranks the articles on the queries that matter, one article or many.

  • Authoritative profiles on high-domain platforms
  • Factual, compliant content under your name or brand
  • Targeted SEO on the exact queries that surface the articles
  • Continuous monitoring so new coverage doesn't outrank your footprint

Long-term stability, not short-term tactics.

Honest answers about news removal

If yours isn't here, ask us during the free assessment.

Can a news article actually be removed from Google?

Sometimes, depending on the facts. Articles with defamation grounds under Australian law, articles that breach a publisher's editorial standards, or articles where statutory remedies apply (eSafety, NCII) can have removal pathways. Factually accurate reporting in established outlets usually cannot be removed at the source — that's by design, and we don't pretend otherwise. For those, search suppression is the workable path: build a footprint of accurate content under your name that outranks the article on the queries that surface it.

What about old coverage of a charge that was dropped?

Where coverage of a matter that was withdrawn, dismissed, or never proceeded remains live and uncorrected, the workable pathways are right-of-reply requests or update requests coordinated with legal counsel where editorial cooperation isn't forthcoming. Where the publisher won't update or remove, suppression pushes the article off page one of searches for your name over time.

Do you contact publishers or journalists directly?

No. We don't do direct publisher outreach. Our news pathway is legal coordination (working with your nominated counsel or a panel lawyer where defamation, statutory, or contractual grounds exist) plus search suppression. Direct outreach to editors tends to be slow, unpredictable, and counterproductive — the legal pathway is the workable one for genuinely actionable cases.

What about wire-syndicated articles on dozens of sites?

Common with major news wires or syndicated coverage replicated across outlets. Each site has its own removal pathway and policy, and where legal grounds exist, takedown work can apply across the cluster simultaneously. We address them in parallel and run search suppression on the queries that surface the cluster — the visible copies get pushed off page one even where the long tail of replicated pages stays online.

How long does the news pathway take?

Realistic timeline is 3 to 12 months. Legal takedowns can land in weeks where grounds are clear and the publisher is responsive. Suppression on competitive queries takes longer. The free 24-hour assessment gives you an honest read on the specific articles before you commit; a tailored strategy lands within two weeks of the assessment if you proceed.

Can you handle defamation matters?

We work alongside legal counsel on defamation pathways — your existing lawyer, panel lawyer appointed by your PI insurer, or a counsel we can introduce. ORMA doesn't provide legal advice and doesn't act as a substitute for counsel. What we do handle is the platform-side coordination, search-visibility management during the proceedings, and the suppression work that runs in parallel with whatever legal pathway is being pursued.
